Prof. Florian Lordick, MD

Professor Florian Lordick is Full Professor of Medicine at the University of Leipzig, Germany, and Director of the University Cancer Center Leipzig. He also serves as Chair of the Department of Medicine II at Leipzig University Medical Center, overseeing oncology, gastroenterology, hepatology, pulmonology and infectious diseases. In addition, he holds a position as Guest Professor at Charles University in Prague.
Professor Lordick is an internationally recognized expert in gastrointestinal oncology. His academic and clinical work focuses on clinical and translational research in immuno-oncology, targeted therapies and multimodal treatment strategies, with a strong emphasis on personalized cancer care and outcome optimization. His research activities are supported by the German Cancer Aid, the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, and the European Commission.
He has authored and co-authored more than 500 peer-reviewed publications and has held numerous senior leadership roles within leading international oncology organizations, including Director of Education at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) and President of the International Gastric Cancer Association (IGCA). He currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of ESMO Gastrointestinal Oncology and Die Onkologie, and is a member of the Executive Board of the International Cancer Foundation.

Professor Petra Tesařová is a Czech clinical oncologist and hematologist specializing in breast cancer, with particular focus on young women under the age of 35. She graduated with honors from the First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague in 1985.
Following initial clinical training in internal medicine, she specialized in both clinical oncology (board certification in 1994) and hematology (board certification in 1998). Since 2000, she has been affiliated with the Oncology Clinic of the First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University and the General University Hospital in Prague. Since 2023 she has also been the head of the Comprehensive Oncology Center of the Bulovka University Hospital.
Her professional interests center on comprehensive breast cancer management, genetic predisposition, personalized treatment strategies, and patient-centered care. She has authored more than 80 scientific publications and regularly lectures at national and international oncology congresses. In addition to her clinical and research activities, she is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education.
Professor Tesařová is Chair of Project 35, an initiative dedicated to young women with breast cancer, and Co-Founder and Chair of the Management Board of Dialog Jessenius. She is a member of the Czech Oncological Society, the Czech Society of Palliative Medicine, and the European oncology society (ESMO) and the American Society of Oncology (ASCO).
Her work combines clinical excellence, academic engagement, and strong commitment to patient education and preventive oncology.
